Accessibility

We build against WCAG 2.2 Level AA. We are not claiming certification. We are telling you the standard we work to and what we have actually checked.

This site has a lot of movement, and all of it answers to your system setting. If you have “reduce motion” enabled:

• Smooth scrolling is switched off entirely and your browser scrolls normally. We never take over your scroll wheel.
• Animated backgrounds render one still composed frame instead of stopping on a blank canvas, so the artwork is still there. It just holds still.
• Text reveals, counters and parallax are replaced with the finished state.
• The trailing cursor does not load at all.
• Sections that normally hold the screen and advance as you scroll, including the work, the process, the five reasons on About and the questions on the FAQ page, stop holding it. Each becomes an ordinary list with everything already visible, so nothing is reachable only by scrolling through an animation.

• Every interactive element is reachable by keyboard and shows a visible focus ring. We never remove focus outlines.
• A “skip to content” link is the first thing you reach on every page.
• The before/after comparator on the Services page is a real slider: arrow keys move it, Home and End jump to the ends, and its value is announced.
• Decorative artwork is hidden from assistive technology. Counters and decoding text announce their final value, not every intermediate frame.
• Where a section advances one item at a time, every item stays in the accessibility tree rather than only the one currently shown, so a screen reader reads the whole set instead of whichever piece the scroll position happens to be on.
• The custom cursor sits on top of your real one rather than replacing it, so your pointer never disappears.

Honestly, as at the date above:

• Booking opens Google Calendar in a new tab rather than embedding it, so that page’s accessibility is Google’s and not ours. If it gives you trouble, email us and we will book the time for you. That route always works.
• Some large display headings use tight letter-spacing that can become cramped at very high zoom levels.
• Two client screenshots are cropped at the bottom to fill their frame on the work section. The full sites are linked beside them, which is the accessible route to everything the crop leaves out.
• We have tested with keyboard navigation, browser zoom to 200%, and screen reader spot checks. We have not conducted a formal third-party audit, and we do not claim certification.

The site is dark throughout. Body text and interface colours are checked against the WCAG AA thresholds on each page’s background: 4.5:1 for text, 3:1 for interface elements and large type. Colour is never the only way information is conveyed.
